Azerbaijan: Demand for Oil Products on an Upward Curve

Domestic consumption of oil products in Azerbaijan topped 3.6m tons between January and October 2011, up from 3.19m tons during the same period last year, according to the State Statistics Committee. Roughly 968,700 tons of this was taken up by petrol, where consumption rose 11.6% year on year.
According to the committee, Azpetrol accounted for 374,900 tons of petrol, with SOCAR distributing 282,860 tons and Lukoil over 138,500 tons. 206,700 tons of fuel oil, 445,600 tons of aviation kerosene and 201,400 tons of petroleum bitumen were sold to the domestic market during the period.
