Wessel Petroleum owner Paul Wessel is rebranding the eight service
stations he owns to BP Service Stations. The change comes as Mobil
exits the market.
Mr Wessel is looking forward to the change. “It's pretty exciting,
the rebranding will put us in a stronger position to offer a better
product to our customers,” he said. The change will begin on October 12
with new signage being installed; this is expected to be completed
mid-December.
The service stations include three in Bundaberg, one in Gin Gin,
Torbanlea, Hervey Bay and two in Maryborough. Several of the
shops will also be refurbished next year in time for Easter.
Mobil cards will be made redundant as of November 1, but customers will
have several other options in place of the cards.
The current Mobil sales such as the 4 cents per litre deal will still
be available in the Wessel Petroleum stores. The rebranding is expected
to cost around $2 million. Mr Wessel said a better supply of fuel will
be available with the refinery being in Brisbane. “It's a big plus
having the refinery in our backyard,” he said.
