Shell Uganda has launched a campaign to educate the public on the dangers accrued with inappropriate handling of fuel.
The campaign entitled ‘Don’t fool with fuel’ was held on Friday 25
at four sites of shell in Kampala which included Shell Bukoto, Shell
Lugogo, Shell City Square and Shell Bugolobi. While launching the
campaign at Shell City Square, Shell Retail Sales Manager, Anthony
Ogalo said that there is low sensitivity to champion safety as a cause,
a reason that has led to loss of lives and property.
He added that if fuel is played around with it can lead to explosion
but few people are not aware of this and therefore leave their phones
on, smoke or even sit on motorbikes while refueling. The three hour
campaign engaged all customers who were refueling their vehicles and
motorbikes at all Shell stations around Kampala.
Earlier this month, Shell Uganda sponsored the eighth edition of the
Toro Open that took place at the 9-hole course in Fort Portal.
The two-day tournament that was played over 36 holes after
the professionals imparted some skills to the amateurs and Fort
Portal locals during a scheduled golf clinic.
