Restricted timings for fuel tankers to operate on Dubai roads have led
to many Emarat petrol stations running out of Super 98 fuel said a
Emarat spokesperson.
A spokesman for Dubai oil retailing company Emarat confirmed that
customer complaints about some of their service stations running out of
branded Super 98 fuel are correct. “The RTA doesn’t allow our fuel
carrying tankers to travel during certain hours of the day – in fact,
the RTA restrictions apply for seven hours every day, so it’s possible,
some stations run out of the product, by the time new supplies come
in,” said the spokesman.
“We have 200 stations and our tankers are unable to reach some of
the stations on time, given the heavy traffic and congestions on
Dubai’s roads,” he said. The spokesman also said all service
stations have a limited fuel storage capacity and the demand for Super
98 has gone up significantly. Emarat is in talks with the RTA to
resolve the issue, said the spokesman.
