Motorists are yet to come to terms with the self-service introduced at ENOC petrol pumps, according to local media.
The pilot project of self-service is currently installed at a few petrol stations in Dubai and Northern Emirates. Khalid Hadi, ENOC Group Brand and Marketing Manager, said they had been getting mixed response to the service. “Some people have accepted the service while others are not too happy.”
ENOC is still studying the feasibility of the service and will wait for another two months to arrive at a decision. “We intentionally introduced the service during the summer so that it becomes easier for people to decide if they are ready for it.”
Pointing out the reasons for introducing the service, Khalid said it was a step to keep up with the global trends and one that he hopes will slowly catch up with motorists in the UAE as well. “I did receive calls from women who did not approve of the concept but with the right information and emphasis on the benefits, we think they’ll gradually appreciate it.”`
