The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) has announced that its Sixth annual forum will look at opportunities for Middle Eastern firms to achieve more in the downstream sector. Moving Downstream – Creating Added Value and Sustainable Growth has been selected as the title for the event.
“Within the sector, opportunities exist to capture much of the added-value that is currently exported, and to create the building blocks for major downstream conversion industries offering rewarding and sustainable employment opportunities for the local youth. This, in turn, would lead to more sustainable growth through the multiplier effect of economic growth,” said GPCA Secretary General Dr Abdulwahab Al Sadoun. He added that the Middle East region had key enduring strengths that would allow it to thrive in a changing market with less accessible feedstocks, greater imperatives for integration and less certainty. The GPCA Annual Forum will take place in Dubai from December 13 to 15.
