The service station network across the UAE is going metric from this
year and several have already started retail dispensing of diesel and
petrol in litres.
According to local sources Emarat has implemented the new
metric scheme throughout its network, while Adnoc, Enoc and Eppco are
implementing the change over a longer period for practical reasons. As
reported by PetrolWorld last year, the Emirates Authority for
Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA) announced that all 416 fuel
service stations in the UAE would start selling fuel in litres
from January, 2010.
