Having introduced self service in August, ENOC is set to expand self
service across the network as well as introduce ‘pay at the pump’.
Khalid Hadi, spokesperson for Enoc, said the decision to expand self service and accept cards at the pump was based on the feedback received from the general public on the operations of self-service petrol stations. "We will be announcing the exact date when the motorists can use these loyalty cards at the self-service petrol stations. This will be done under Phase 2," said Hadi. "Motorists will also be saving a lot of time in paying for their petrol once the upgraded dispensers are installed."
As reported by PetrolWorld in August, the self-service concept was introduced on August 12 in 10 Enoc petrol stations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. There are about 167 Enoc and Eppco petrol stations in the UAE in total. The loyalty cards excepted at the Enoc stations are Select cards, Select plus, Cash plus and E-cash. These cards are available in all Enoc and Eppco petrol stations in the Emirates.
"The E-cash and Cash-plus cards are designed for consumers," explained Hadi. "Cash-plus is a debit card. The customer can enter the desired amount in the card, while the E-cash card comes for Dh100, Dh200 and Dh500. "The Select card and the Select plus are issued for companies that have a large fleet of cards. These cards can be purchased from our cards department and are not available at the petrol stations."
