Two fuel service stations will be built on Yas Island, the area which hosts the Yas Marina Circuit and the Formula 1 Gran Prix, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has said. The stations, the first to be built on the tourist friendly island, will allow visitors to refuel their vehicles before they reach the mainland, Adnoc said.
“The two stations are currently under construction and are expected to be opened at the end of this year,” read a statement released by Adnoc. “They will provide fuel and allied services to the island’s residents and consumers.” Adnoc is known to set up temporary stations on the island when high profile events are being held. The island also attracts golfers, through the 18-hole Yas Links Golf Course. Six hotels accommodate guests.
“Adnoc Distribution is in continuous coordination with all government authorities to establish service stations in all newly developed areas as well as high density areas,” the oil company added.
