Gulf African Petroleum Corporation (GAPCO) has signed a new deal with Airtel Tanzania that will enable motorists to pay for fuel without using cash. Selected Gapco fuel service stations will now accept payment from Airtel Money accounts.
Airtel Money subscribers can refuel using their accounts by selecting the Airtel Money Menu on their mobile phones, 'send' their password and type in the name of the station. Users can then type in the amount of money to be transferred along with their PIN Number. Outlets accepting Airtel Money payments will also act as Airtel agents, offering 'cash in' and 'cash out' services.
