Engen has said its 125,000-barrel-a-day refinery in the port of
Durban may return to production by mid-January after a fire.
“Engen now believes the refinery could be re-started in about six
weeks' time,'' the company said in an e-mailed statement today.
Petroliam Nasional Bhd, Malaysia's state-owned oil company, owns 80
percent of Engen. The fire caused damage worth about 50 million rand
($4.8 billion), Engen said.
