Nigeria: NNPC Increases Fuel Supply Ahead of Holidays

Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation says that it has increased its supply of fuel to the country's retailers ahead of the upcoming holiday season.
Speaking from Abuja, NNPC Acting Group General Manager Fidel Pepple said that this was to avoid long lines developing at stations as has been happening in recent weeks, and that it will aim to ensure that motorists remain filled up after the season is over.
"We have stepped up fuel supply and distribution across the country to ensure motoristscan drive into any filling station and buy fuel without queuing, especially during this period of the year that comes with a lot of holidays and festivities," explained Pepple."We have increased the number of truck loadings to all geo-political zones of the country and we hope to sustain this from now through the Sallah holidays and to Christmas and the new year."
Pepple said that the average amount of trucks delivering fuel to Abuja daily has already risen from 98 to 118 and that similar steps have been taken in Lagos, the country's second city and financial capital.
