Residents of Aba and its environs have been besieging the Africa Petroleum and
Texaco service stations since the new fuel lower fuel price rate
of N50 per litre.
Local media representatives have been reporting that the AP
filling stations in Abayi, Osisioma, near Aba and Asa Road/St.
Michael’s Road in Aba metropolis said that long queues of buyers were
seen waiting to buy the product. Accrding to the report, the same
situation was witnessed at the Texaco service station on Asa Road, Aba
where the product was also going for N50 per litre.
Signifcantly it has to be pointed out that in the Aba region, the fuel
price for the past year has been selling for between N75 and N85 per
litre. An attendant at one of the AP stations, Mr Kingsley Oha,
said that the station took delivey of about 13,000 litres of kerosene
on Wednesday and had almost dispensed about 6,500 litres.
