Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan (pictured) has announced changes of management at key fuel market regulators. Reginald Chika Stanley has been named as the new Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), which oversees pricing and the payment of fuel subsidies to importers, while Osten Oluyemisi Olorunsola is to head the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).
Reginald Chika Stanley is currently the Group General Manager in charge of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s New Business Development Division. He previously worked as Marketing Manager of NNPC, and as Executive Director of Duke Oil Company in the UK. Oluyemisi Olorunsola worked as Strategic Business Adviser to the Minister of Petroleum Resources from 2008 to 2009, and as Manager of the Opportunity Delivery and Studies Centre at Shell. They replace Goody Chike Egbuji and Andrew Obaje respectively.
Nigeria is set to remove fuel subsidies which the Government say cost $7bn a year in early 2012. The reform has seen significant opposition from the labour movement and politicians.
