Since
its launch in August, FNB Namibia is overwhelmed with the response of
fuel service stations to the the card payment facilities for petrol via
debit and credit cards.
Mr Rene Botes, Manager of Merchant Acquiring and Speedpoint at FNB Namibia, said three more service stations have signed up for this service since the launch on 8 August 2011, while five more have requested the contract for read-through and sign-off and should be on board towards the end of September.
The three new service stations are Caltex Donpenda, Total Pionierspark and Puma Klein Windhoek. He added: “The response by service station owners has been overwhelming. They have been requested by their clients on numerous occasions for this payment method and now they are able to provide their customers with payment via debit and credit card.
“We are confident that this method will be welcomed by tourists to our beautiful country as it reduces risk by being less cash orientated and in general providing a professional service. Together with FNB Namibia this makes buying fuel products so much easier and more customer friendly.”
