Kuwait Petroleum Profits Rise 74%

Kuwait Petroleum Corp. says its profit in its first fiscal quarter shot up 74 per cent.
The company said it earned US$4.15 billion (1.1 billion
dinars) in the April-June quarter, compared to the same period last
year. It says 79 per cent of those profits were from operations and the
rest from investments. The government company controls Kuwait's oil sector including drilling, refining, shipping and petrochemical industries.
