Kuwait Oil Company Invites Bids for Oil Pipeline

Kuwait Oil Company has invited firms to bid for the contract to build
oil export pipelines from the planned Gathering Centre 16 in west
Kuwait and new water flow lines at the Managesh water injection project.
The engineering, procurement and construction contract is expected to be followed by the formal tender for the new gathering facility, which will hold capacity of 200,000 barrels a day. The US’ Fluor Corporation is the front end engineering and design contractor.
The new gathering centre is part of Kuwait Oil Company plan to increase crude oil production capacity to 4 million barrels per day by 2020. The state upstream operator has invited 22 contractors to a pre-tender meeting on December4th 2008 with the closing date for bids on January 18th 2009.
Earlier KOC had invited contractors to bid for the second phase of its early production facility project, which will more than triple output from its gas fields by 2011.
