The managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) will
travel to China this week with a delegation of Iranian oil officials,
the Oil Ministry's Shana news agency reported.
Seifollah Jashnsaz will be accompanied by a number of senior NIOC officials, including Mostafa Zeinoddin, manager for legal affairs, Hojjatollah Ghanimifard, deputy director for investment affairs and Mohammad Ali Emadi, the company's manager for research and technology, Shana said.
Chinese officials invited the NIOC managing director to China for the talks, according to Shana.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss energy cooperation with senior officials from Chinese oil companies, according to Shana.
The Iranian oil officials will discuss cooperation in the energy sector and improving oilfield recovery rates, as well as the sale of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to China and China's participation in the development of Iran's South Pars natural gas field, Shana reported.
The two sides are slated to sign a memorandum of understanding if any agreements are made on the issues being discussed, Shana said.
