Chevron Malaysia is seeking investors to back the construction of 100 new Caltex service stations in the country. Chevron, which plans to build the stations between now and 2015, says it wants the investors to establish ownership and operate the sites. The oil company says it has identified suitable sites on the country's west coast; these include the Klang Valley, Penang, Prai, Butterworth, Malacca and Baru.

Nupi Americas has announced that it has appointed Protologic Group to act as the Smartflexmaster distributor in the Caribbean. Protologic, which will also take care of sales and tech support in Central America, has been involved with the pipe and fitting system since 2003.

Veolia Transportation has unveiled Baltimore's first propane fuelled taxi fleet at a ceremony at the company's mid-Atlantic headquarters. Veolia is converting 300 of its taxis in the US from gasoline to propane, and has installed a fuelling station for the 50 cabs that will be based in Baltimore. Veolia is the city's largest taxi provider, operating under many names including Yellow, Checker, Sun Cabs and Jimmy's Cabs.

The Nigerian government has been criticised for its clampdown on illegal refineries by the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce (NACCIMA), which said that the action is counter-productive to the country's fuel supplies.

Jacksons Food Stores has awarded PCI networks company Acumera the contract to manage its network and connections systems. Jacksons, which operates 200 retail locations with more than 1,900 store systems, chose Acumera because of the attention it gives to connectivity, security and visibility, said Jacksons Food Stores' director of IT, Patrick Abernathy.
